Mud, Sweat and Fundraising: People’s Partnership tackles Tough Mudder 2026

Staff at People’s Partnership¹ geared up on Friday, 18 September 2026 to push their limits and get muddy at the Vanguard Tough Mudder Takeover at the Holmbush Estate in Crawley, West Sussex to raise money for a brilliant cause.

Workers at People’s Partnership, provider of the People’s Pension, selected St Catherine’s Hospice², Crawley (“St Catherine’s”) as their charity of the year for 2026/27, dedicating another year of fundraising activity to support the charity’s crucial work³.

In their latest fundraising pursuit, 18 athletes from People’s Partnership swapped their desks for a muddy 5km course packed with 20 obstacles and team-based challenges. The team joined more than 1,000 others across the industry, raising an impressive total of more than £2,800 (including gift aid) for St Catherine’s.

By coming together to support St Catherine’s Hospice, they have helped raise vital funds while creating a fantastic sense of teamwork and community. Every pound raised will help the hospice continue its invaluable work supporting local people and families when they need it most.”

“Tough Mudder was an incredible experience and a day I will genuinely remember. Taking part for such a worthwhile cause made it even more meaningful, but what stood out most was the brilliant team spirit shown by everyone involved. Although I had not met some of the team before the event, the support, encouragement and collaboration throughout the day were fantastic. It was a real reminder of how people at People’s Partnership come together to support one another and achieve something special. I do not think the day would have been the success it was without them.”

“It’s always rewarding to be part of an event that supports such a great cause. St Catherine’s is close to many people’s hearts in Crawley, so it was wonderful to get involved and help the local community.

“The event itself was an incredible experience. Although I didn’t know exactly what to expect, the teamwork and support from everyone made all the challenges enjoyable and helped settle any nerves. No one backed down because we encouraged each other every step of the way.

“It wasn’t about competition, it was about working together, having fun, and overcoming obstacles as a team. One of the best days I’ve had, and a fantastic opportunity to meet new people while raising money for a cause close to home.”

Teamwork was the theme throughout and what made the experience feel particularly special was the opportunity to get to know colleagues who I hadn’t met before in a setting outside of the work. It created a space for people to connect and build new relationships, all while doing something fun and raising money for such a worthwhile cause.”

Watching everyone push their limits, achieve personal bests and helping each other through every challenge made the experience truly memorable. It was fantastic to meet and connect with colleagues from across the business. I couldn’t have been prouder to represent the team in blue.” 

To prove that their fundraising efforts aren’t just limited to dry land, People’s Partnership colleagues also made a splash at the annual Dragon’s Boat Race in Crawley on Saturday, 5 September 2026, representing the business as ‘The Pension Paddlers’ across two exciting races. As well as this, a team of 28 colleagues set off on a sponsored walk across the South Downs Way, taking a total of 16 miles in their stride for the charity.
